The Old Sunday School Banners
As a Fine Artist I am always working to develop my skills and inspiration. Presently I’m exploring textiles in practice and digital print. I have recently been very pleased to accept a commission to design and create large canvas wall hangings inspired by my paintings; to hang in a lovingly restored Old Sunday School in the Weardale.

Salford Diocese school’s “good shepherd banners” for Salford Cathedral
Diane has recently been awarded this exciting commission.
To create working in collaboration with Textile Artist Christine Woodhead large linen banners representing children’s interpretation of the story of the Good Shepherd.
Working with 92 schools across Salford Diocese the images created by the children have been scanned using photoshop then selected sized and printed on to linen. The banners are presently touring the schools after a joyous celebration event held in the Cathedral.
September this year they will be hung in Salford Cathedral ensuring the children their families and school communities can visit for a very long time having the opportunity to perhaps say “I was involved in creating these…”
Diane’s philosophy when working with schools and pupils ensures all participants are actively involved in creative learning .That they are developing their capacity to formulate and ask questions and make connections between different ideas while envisaging and imagining possibilities, exploring and imaging ideas, while working through challenges and working collaboratively always having fun…!!!!
